3) “This little light” after the French Version
It’s such a stupid phrase - “Frankie Manning’s dead”. It just doesn’t sound right or even read right. What you normally say is “Yeah, Frankie Manning is ninety-X and is still dancing” And you smile and feel proud to have somebody like to look up to.
This Saturday at 12 o’clock EST (New York) will be the last day that our Frankie will be with us physically with us. We are fortunate that his funeral will be open to all, Thank you Family Manning. It’s going to be a road block. 
I hope the New York Police are prepared!!!! And yes, I would like to be there. So would many hundreds of thousands of others. I hope its going to swing like I know Frankie would like it. A big BIG BIIIIIG celebration.
When I got the news of his imminent passing, the song that came to my head was “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine”. An anthem befitting for him, cos that’s what he did and a legacy he has left for us.
So I propose that at 12 o’clock EST* on Saturday 2 May 2009, wherever you are, whatever you are doing and whoever you are with, we hold a minutes silence, followed by a bell**, followed by “This little light of mine”***. Pass it on, tell everybody. Send Frankie of with the biggest Road Block Party.

C’est con de dire « Frankie Manning est mort ». Il n’y a pas de sens. Même quand tu le lis. D’habitude on dit, « Ouaih, Frankie Manning a quatre-vingt-dix balais – Et il danse toujours ». Et tu souris et tu es fier d’avoir une telle personne d’admirer.
Ce samedi a 12h00 EST (New York) sera le dernier jour que notre Frankie sera parmi de nous, « physiquement ». Nous sommes privilégiés d’avoir son funéraire ouvert à tout le monde – Merci, la Famille Manning. Ça va être blander !!! Je ne pense pas que la police de New York ne se rende pas compte !!!! Et oui, j’aimerais être présente. Ainsi des milles autres. J’espère que ça va swinguer comme je le sais Frankie aimerait. A big BIG BIIIIIG celebration.
Quand j’ai eu des nouvelles qu’il allait mourir, la chanson « This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine », tout de suite qui venait a mon esprit. Un anthem (une hymne) digne de lui. C’est ça qu’il faisait et l’héritage il nous a laissé.
Je propose donc, à 12h00 EST*, Samedi 2 mai 2009 que nous fassions une minute silence, suivi par une cloche**, suivi par « This little light of mine »*** Pass it on, dit à tout le monde.
